Speaker Bios: Judy Erratt, Ph.D. Dr. Judy Erratt is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa office. Judy's practice involves the preparation and prosecution of national and international patent applications with a focus in biotechnology. She is a registered Patent Agent in both Canada and the United States. Konrad Sechley, Ph.D. Konrad Sechley is a principal patent agent in Gowlings' Vancouver office and a vice chair of Gowlings' Life Science Group. His practice focuses on patent protection in the biotechnological, agricultural, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors in Canada, U.S. and abroad. He works with a full range of clients including government, university and hospital research labs, startup and mid-sized biotech companies, and pharmaceutical and multinational corporations. He is a registered Patent Agent in Canada and the United States and a qualified Canadian Patent Examiner. Daniel Polonenko Dan Polonenko is a principal patent agent in Gowlings' Vancouver office. His practice involves patent drafting and prosecution in the fields of life sciences focusing on biotechnology, health, medical devices, agriculture, forestry, as well as environmental technologies, process engineering, and mechanical inventions. Additionally, Dan provides business-focused strategic and tactical IP services. A registered Patent Agent in both Canada and the United States, Dan has over 20 years experience in the Canadian Biotech Industry moving progressively through senior management positions into the corporate executive level. Jane Clark Jane Clark is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa office, practising in the Intellectual Property Group, and is the National Leader of Gowlings' Life Sciences Group. Jane has more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property matters. Her practice focuses on patent litigation in the Federal Court of Canada.
